Everyone seems to be enjoying using video conferencing over the last couple of weeks. I know I am, as I often work from home and don’t get to see my colleagues every day. Whatever video conferencing platform you are using here are some tips I have.
Virtual backgrounds are only good if you don’t disappear into the background.
For most of you, this post won’t be relevant, however, for the people that are new to online meetings, feel free to jot down some of these tips!
Zoom Video Conferencing
With whatever platform you are using, specifically, zoom, there are typically options to load a virtual background right within the program.
Here are the screenshots for Zoom:
Step 1:
Go To settings>virtual background
Here you will be able to click Add Image and upload any HD backgrounds you would like.
You can find great HD Backgrounds for free HERE
Once you have that setup, during your meeting you can go down to the bottom menu bar, Click Start Video> Choose Virtual background.
If you don’t have a webcam with the capabilities, this message will pop up. The only fix for this is that you purchase a new camera, or purchase a green screen to sit behind your office chair.
SNAPCAMERA
I lied, if you don’t have a great web camera, there is an alternative option. This option will only exist on your personal devices as I doubt any corporation will allow you to download it.
Here is the link to download the software on your desktop: HERE
The trick with this application you need to open it on your desktop before you open any other video conferencing software. Once the application is open, you can click through many virtual backgrounds and filters for your camera. You can change this live through the application as you are on your video call.
What are your tips for virtual backgrounds? Are there other tools that are working better for you?
Thanks for stopping by!
